Keeping track of recipes is a pain— they're all over the place, yet never in the right place when it's time to make dinner. And then, there's the grocery list... which doesn't do you much good when you head to the grocery store without it. Sure you could sift through all your cookbooks, or write "milk, eggs, bread" on your hand, but why, when there’s Ziplist?
Ziplist is a website and free app that is going to change the way you store recipes and shop for groceries. A total game-changer when it comes to simplifying mealtime. In a chicken rut? Well just pop onto Ziplist and peruse the hundreds of chicken recipes from some of the biggest names in food (Martha Stewart anyone?). With the click of one button the recipe is stored in a virtual recipe box, and with another click a grocery list of ingredients is instantly created for you. Ziplist is even kind enough to help you save money with coupons you can print before you go to the store. And that's just the tip of the iceberg lettuce when it comes to Ziplist's features— watch how Carley uses it to enhance her breasts. (That's chicken, of course!)

That would be perfect if it incoroprated a meal plan option where you could plan your weekly, monthly menus as well.
CKnobloch says:
Tracie— I agree. They should add those features for a REAL soup-to-nuts solution.

This is great! I also have a recommendation for anyone looking for new recipes, much like this website it takes what your craving and comes up with recipes that contain the items.
The cool part? You can list foods your allergic to or don't like and it will avoid recipes with those ingredients.
It's called Gojee (www.Gojee.com)
Thanks for the great tip with ziplist!
CKnobloch says:
Carolina— thanks for the tip!
Jeannine Chanin-Penn says:
love this! and ditto to Gojee - the photography alone makes me hungry:)
CKnobloch says:
Jeannine— mmmm....

Thanks for sharing, my husband i were just talking about something like this. Some others we have tried don't work so well. Looking forward to testing this one!
CKnobloch says:
Elle-- been using it for nearly a year, and it's fantastic. Nothing beats having your husband surprise you and come home with EXACTLY the groceries you need!! On my list of marriage-saving tech tools!
Hannah says:
Holy cow I might actually start to COOK now! Thanks Carley!
CKnobloch says:
Hannah— definitely try that chicken and artichokes recipe... I've added the link above.
Cheri says:
This sounds great! I just might get me to move my recipes from Evernote. I think have a new weekend project! yummy
Keep up the good work, I love your twirls!
CKnobloch says:
Cheri— Thanks! Evernote is a great place to store recipes... but you can't take advantage of all of Ziplist's other features. Tough call!

Thanks for another amazing video this week!
And.... A while back, Jillian and I were emailing, and she suggested that I switch to Google Chrome. I was really hesitant, because I HATE change when it comes to technology. {Which explains why I am such a fan of you guys- you help me understand all of this stuff!}
But, I figured- if the ladies at Digitwirl say Chrome is the way to go, then clearly, I'd be a darn fool to not follow their advice.
So, I switched to Chrome. And I love it. A lot. You guys rock- always
CKnobloch says:
Meagan— Yeah! Chrome works. So well. Especially with all of the Google stuff. And now that they have offline versions for Gmail and Google Calendar, I'm MUCH happier with it. Glad you're enjoying!
Calissa Leigh says:
I think this is the best online tool you've checked out yet.
I've been looking for something like this for ages. I'd love one simple place to put recipes and create grocery lists.
And I LOVE the clipping of recipes from around the web. No more printing off FoodGawker recipes and losing them in folders.
CKnobloch says:
Calissa— Isn't it just the best when you stumble across the PERFECT solution? We live to Twirl about stuff like that.
Enjoy!

Thanks for the great tip. I can't wait to use it. Another great app for food is Grocery Getter. My husband and I can share our lists, including adding to and taking off the items. It would be great if Ziplist was compatible, but that is too good to be true.
CKnobloch says:
Anna— Thanks for letting us know! I think ZipList is going to continue to pop up in tons of places. I wouldn't be surprised if there WAS an integration at some point! Thanks for sharing grocery getter.
Gail says:
Thanks for this tip! I signed up for it on Saturday, but was VERY frustrated because it wouldn't log in on my Android app. I emailed tech support and got a reply this morning. The only way it will work is NOT to link it to Facebook. Just log on with an email and password on the web, and then use that on the phone and it MAGICALLY works!
Wow, that was a LOT of frustration to get to this point!! Now I can't wait to use it!
CKnobloch says:
Gail— Yikes! That sounds frustrating. Glad you found a workaround. I'm curious about how all those "Facebook Connect" links work. I'm always skeptical, though of course it helps cut down on all the passwords you have to remember... perhaps a future Twirl?
Christine says:
Looking forward to trying this....I'm also wondering if there is an app that somehow pulls in grocery store prices, even on staple items to for comparison shopping. I'm working on a project for some charitable organizations, but this would sure be helpful for everyone at home! Hope you know of something...thanks!
CKnobloch says:
Hi Christine— Check out an app called Grocery Gadget: http://www.macworld.com/appguide/app.html?id=81417&expand=false

I'd love to hear your thoughts about PepperPlate. It's new, and has both a web and iphone/ipad/touch app, and is also free. It can slup in recipies from both specific foodie website, or you can enter in your own or ones you find on the web. It doesn't do coupons, but it will help you build a menu, add recipes to a planner, and you can carry your shopping list with you offline. (which is important to ppl like me who only have a Touch and iPad without connectivity.)
Robert Jones says:
This app sounds great! A similar app my family uses is "Listborough". One function we find really useful is their share function. You can make for example a shopping list and then share it with your family or a specified user. So in the store, (even without wifi) you can check off and edit your lists and shared lists. This app is really simple and easy to use and also your lists get saved so no need to try to remember what you had to buy at the store!

I love zip list! I use it mostly thru glutenfreerecipebox.com. I just wish more sites would use it so I can keep all my recipes I find on sites in it.
