Get A Personal Assistant. Siri-ously.

Sometimes it’s the smallest tasks that take the most time. And who doesn't have a never ending to do list that seems impossible to get through? Wouldn’t it be great if you could have a personal assistant to take care of all that stuff for you? Guess what, there is an app for that. And it is Siri-ously amazing.

In this week’s Twirl check out Carley hanging out with her gal pal--the wonderfully talented singer, and typically time-challenged mom-- Lisa Loeb. She's looking to simplify her life, just like we all are. You’ll be as amazed as she was when we introduced her to Siri, a virtual assistant that is at your beck and call 24/7. Siri will send you reminders for things you need to do, find businesses and restaurants wherever you are, show you what kid's events are going on, and even create a tweet, all without touching a keypad. This productivity app uses simple voice command, so you say it, Siri does it. Don't you wish you could say the same about your family?

Have you found any other apps that have totally simplified your life?  C'mon share!

Unfortunately, I don't think it's going to ever get there. Siri was bought by Apple, so expect their cool voice-activated software to show up in the iOS sometime soon. I like Vlingo for Android apps. It's similar, and looks really useful. Check it out!

    Carley,

Aside from Siri, which looks like it could be useful for many, I just love the way you present! Great job.

Kim— Don't think it integrates with Google calendar. But it may integrate with iCal soon, because Apple bought the company. Stay tuned...

It should be noted up front that this APP only works for Iphones. Apple bought Siri so we android users are out of luck.

By the way I enjoyed your talk at the Evernote conference. Nice job!

So bad news ... looks like Siri will now only be available for the iphone 4S. It's already been pulled from the app store. I read an article that speculated this is because their updated version of it will require more power.

Guess it's back to vlingo till google comes out with something else. Hopefully soon ...

Katy— Yep, it's a bummer. But the new 'Apple-ified' Siri looks even cooler than the old one. I bet there will be more solid competitors soon...
