Quick. Where is your grocery list written? I don’t know about you, but mine used to be on a note pads and scraps of paper and occasionally my palm. (Desperate times...) Then I discovered GroceryIQ, the smartest way to shop.
GroceryIQ is a website and app that lets you easily enter everything you want to shop for so it’s always with you when you’re ready to shop. And you can share your list in case you're lucky enough to not be the one sent to the supermarket. Type your items in manually, or use the cool barcode scanner. And, since we’re all about finding ways to save money, we love the fact that GroceryIQ pairs with Coupons.com so you can easily see what’s on sale and start saving.
Watch this week’s Twirl and see why I always have my shopping list in the palm of my hand, instead of on it.

Can this by synced to an iPad?
CKnobloch says:
Judy— Yes! Your grocery list is in the cloud, so you can add an item via iPad and then see it on your phone, or desktop, or any combination of those.

I LOVE GroceryIQ. It was one of the first apps I ever had when I got an iPod Touch several years ago... and one of the reasons I made my husband cave to the iPhone instead of our Win7 phone. (GroceryIQ people, for crying out loud would you PLEASE make an app for Win7 phones? I'd be so grateful!)

I love this app (and feel very "in the know" today).
So glad that you featured it, and I picked up a few tips for functions I didn't already use. Thanks!!

This is a great idea!
Thanks for the heads up-- and, um, I'm one of those nerdy types who would reorganize it in the order of my store.

Last week I switched from Groceries (http://sophiestication.com/groceries/) to GroceryIQ.
I keep my lists by store and an important feature for me is to be able to move an item on my list from one store to another store. So, if you can't find it at one store, you can move it to another place to search for it.

Do you have any comments on GroceryIQ's privacy policy?

just wondering if when i scan a barcode should the item name and picture switch to the barcode number after a short time? i can't seem to find out why it does that, but when i look at my list i just see the number not the item name. thanks!
CKnobloch says:
KMarie— Hmmm. That's weird. Should work just like it does in the video... you should scan the code and the name of the item you scanned (complete with flavor, size, and other information that's a pain to type!) should pop into your grocery list. Have you tried it with several items, especially common household brands (Tide, Kraft, etc.) to see if that problem is just with one item, or all?
KmarieEatcake says:
Got it--thanks!
Sharon Arnett says:
Does Grocery IQ only work with those stores OR only the coupon feature?
CKnobloch says:
Sharon— Great question... just the "mobile loyalty card" feature is restricted to those stores. The coupons work anywhere that coupons usually work.

My husband and I've been using the Cozi shopping list for a while now but I think we might try GroceryIQ. There are certain brands we prefer over others, but I can never remember them and being able to scan the bar code will make that easier. Great Twirl!

I was JUST making a grocery store list when I decided to look at this video! It's going to change the way I shop for groceries forever! Thank you for sharing!
Ilda Luna says:
Love your videos! My husband and I use Cozi, it took me a while to convince my husband to use it, so now I doubt I can convince him to give this one a try. He likes Cozi and so do I, I just wish it had the scan feature!
Pam Carelli says:
This has some good features, but I have been using "Buy Me A Pie" for some time now, and am sold on it. It's super simple to use, syncs automatically to all our devices and has a nice, clean look. Thanks for all your videos!

I have yet to try any of these apps that you've shared but I'm saving them all for Someday (with a capital S).
Thanks for the great tips!

I love this app. I whipped through my shopping list at Walmart by using this app. Thanks so much for sharing!

Love this app! I've been using it for a couple years now and use it all the time. It is so handy and love that I can email the list to my hubby when needed. Thanks for all of your wonderful videos!

I have been using Grocery IQ for a couple years and really like it. The only thing with this app is the commercial bias. When I type in "real" food grocery items, the real food should appear somewhere on the list of suggestions, not just some slightly related processed product. For example, tofu gets you tofurky kielbasa as the first suggestion. Really? tofurkey? Plum tomatoes>> Home Run Inn Pizza. I get that this free app probably makes their money that way, but can't weird tofu foods at least start at the second listing?
