When you look around your house it’s probably filled with beautiful framed pictures from when your daughter was a baby or special events like your wedding. The problem is that your “baby” is now a fifth-grader now and you’re celebrating your 15th anniversary next month. Most of us stopped printing pictures when we made the shift to digital photos which makes our framed photos woefully out-of-date. Now all our memories are stored on our computers, our phones, or maybe still trapped on memory cards. Well we found a great way to get those digital memories off your devices and into a picture frame in a snap.
The Kodak Pulse Digital Photo Frame is a beautiful frame that holds up to 4000 pictures and has several different dynamic display options. You can send the photos wirelessly from places like iPhoto, Kodak Gallery, Facebook, and even upload them from a memory card or flash drive. But here’s where the Pulse really gets ours racing. You can create an email address for your frame and email photos directly to it from anywhere. So that moutaintop shot you took when you were skiing will be on display by the time you’re at the bottom of the slopes. It comes in a 7” and a 10” version and makes an amazing gift for loved ones who live far away or even just to have in your office so you can get updated pictures when you’re not around.
Check out this week’s Twirl and find out why being framed might not be such a bad thing.

Rani— I agree!

Just last week I was telling my grandmother she would see more pictures of her great grandkids if only she got an email account. Looks like that problem is solved!
I'm gonna give this one and try to see how easy it really is and then hopefully get one off to her soon!
Thanks for the heads-up on this one!

Amy— Super! I think that's exactly who this is great for. Let me know how she likes it!
Tasha says:
LOVE.
how much? I like the larger frame, more to see my beautiful work.
CKnobloch says:
Tasha— And it is beautiful work indeed! (Check her out at http://www.mystory.com!) Seems like it's hovering somewhere around $199, while the 7" version has dropped to around $129.

Hi!
Do you know of one that works with Flickr? I have about 4000 photos on flickr and would love to hook it up with a digital frame.
Thanks,
Christina
CKnobloch says:
Christina— I did some sniffing around and, unfortunately, it looks like there's not a great solution for Flickr on a Digital frame. Seems like they should partner with a manufacturer and fix that!

I love the photo frame idea for grandparents, etc. Great idea!... I have to say that my favorite way to display my photos at home is with Apple TV. I play my favorite music and have my photos rotating on my big flat screen. Leise
CKnobloch says:
Leise— Me too! I love the origami setting... looks like pictures are being folded and unfolded.

Looks like a great idea. I think I'm going to get one or three!

I looked for this product for Xmas 2010 last year, and gave up. So glad it finally exists, grandparents will LOVE it! Agree that Flickr should get on board and offer something similar. Thanks for the twirl!

Samantha— That's how I felt too!! Our family had one of the first digital connected frames, a Ceiva, in 2000. It used to dial into a phone line to receive pictures in the middle of the night, like a modem! And it's crazy that it's taken this long to make it so easy and use wireless routers WELL to help people get pictures where they can enjoy them. Let me know how the g'rents like their frames!
Jody says:
I know my husband imports flicker photos onto our D-link digital frame!
CKnobloch says:
Jody— Cool! Thanks for letting us know.
Lisa says:
This frame is a great idea! Just curious though, with kodak going bankrupt, will using the frame via the kodak website be affected?
CKnobloch says:
Lisa— As of now, there's nothing to suggest that it will be affected. I saw them at CES, and though they seem to be in trouble, they're releasing new products and they don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
