If you thought Cybil had multiple personalities wait until you get a load of our latest must-have gadget--the HP Photosmart Premium e-Printer one of the most interesting home printers we've seen yet. On the one hand it thinks it’s a high-quality wireless color printer that knows the difference between documents and photographs, one the other it believes it’s a computer whose touch screen interface (with apps!) allows you to order movie tickets, download recipes and print news articles without a computer in sight. It has delusions of being able to print anything emailed from anywhere and, if that weren’t enough, it claims to scan and copy too.
It’s madness. Madness we tell you. Well, watch this week's session, uh we mean Twirl, to see if Carley can get to the root of the many personalities of this personal wireless home printer.

I love this!!
Printing by email sounds amazing. Can't believe it switched paper to for the picture.
Clever little monkey...

Laurie— It impressed even jaded little ol' me.

I heard a rumor at a cool tech party that there is a device that scans my receipts and inputs them into a quick books spread sheet, is it true? Can I ditch my data entry person?

Clever girl!
How much are the print cartridges? Seriously, our HP runs low on ink quickly and the cartridges are $$$$.
CKnobloch says:
Diana— that's a great question. They actually have two different ink cartridges you can use— one that's about $10 that prints up to 350 pages, and one that's $18 that prints 750 pages. But the photo ink cartridges are the ones that really get'cha. The B&W and Color photo together are an additional $50.

I just bought the printer with the removable 7" touch screen tablet. Could not be more happyt with it. 40 free faxes a month and tons of apps to go with it.
CKnobloch says:
Chris— good to know, Chris. We tested that one as well, but decided to speak to Twirlers about the lower-priced model. But all the features are similar... minus the cool pull-out tablet!
Lynn says:
Oh it all sounded so wonderful. However, mine has proven to be draconian to use as one has to reconnect the wireless as though it were a first use (through a slow long process) every time one wants to print a page. 17 hours on the tele with tech support has failed to resolve the problem so now I just live with it until I can afford to replace the printer.
LOVE your website!
CKnobloch says:
Lynn— That sounds terrible! Seems like it's a software problem more than a printer problem... that's definitely not supposed to happen! I'd make sure you have updated system software... how old is your computer?

Carley your site is my dream come true! I have been looking for tech that makes my life as a mom, journalist and fitness freak easier. THANK YOU for doing the work and making it so much fun to watch and learn. You and Digitwirl ROCK!

Barbi— Thanks for watching!
