Sweet receipt management

The Lemon app helps you know just where your money's going

Managing your money is the pits.  Monitoring online purchases, shoeboxing receipts and keeping track on those elusive cash buys is a hassle... plus even if you have all the information in one place, what to make of it?  Spending can get out of hand if we don't have a bird's eye view of where our money is going, but who has the time to squeeze all the data out of our spending history?

Lemon offers a sweet solution, by helping you track all your purchases in one place, and then analyzing it all for you, so you can really see what's up with your money.

Watch this week's Twirl to see why Lemon has so much "a-peel". (Ahem.)

Thanks for this post. I've been looking for a system for my receipts. How does this compare to similar apps? Feedback on the new update says that receipts are disappearing. & other problems too.

I'm also wondering if you prefer this to neat receipts?

I love your videos. So helpful.

Hiya Carley, This looks really simple and very useful. As someone who failed with Mint, I'm definitely going to check it out. (Also, a word or two from the folks at Lemon about their privacy and security would be cool too.)

I usually love the products you twirl about. This seemed like such a great idea. I immediately downloaded it and paid for the data plan. However, I have not been able to get a scanned receipt to show up in my account.
To be fair, I have sent the support staff an email regarding this issue. I will post again when they reply.
Until then, I suggest playing with the free version...

My apologies to Lemon and Digitwirl.
In playing around with the app some more, it seems that the issue is user error. The receipt I used as a test was over 30 days old and was available for view under the "all" section. In fact, the program not only worked well at delivering the company name, date and amount, but also in breaking down the receipt by item.
Now if only there was an app to slow down my reaction time...
      Bests to all.

Not wanting to have yet another app to put stuff in, and since I love EverNote so much... is there an app that can scan receipts into EverNote from the phone? I do have the Fujitsu ScanSnap 1500S (and love it) but receipts that small would be better scanned by the phone I think. How about it? Is there an app for that? (Android, please!)

Thanks for your twirls. I've found them very useful. How does Lemon compare to Neat Receipts or ScanSnap with Neat Receipts software? Is it easier?

Live your site and video reviews, Carley! I've been using Shoeboxed now for the past 3 years and am curious why you chose Lemon to feature ovr it or any others?

Andy— Hi! I like Shoeboxed a lot. It has a lot of great features that in some ways are superior to Lemon for a more "power user", like having the ability to send a big pile of receipts to the service to scan for you, or exporting data to other CRM or financial tools. Lemon has a more simplified interface that, I think, is geared to the personal/family user who can scan in a few receipts at a time by phone. We're always looking for the "just enough" technology solution at Digitwirl, and sometimes too many features means that people just won't adopt them at all. Shoeboxed is great, but I think Lemon is optimized for our typical audience member. Hope that answers your question!

    HI,

I looked into Lemon, they have changed their account prices. They told me it's $9.99 a month or $99.00 a year to have full access to everything. I decided it was too expensive for what I want. Wished Quicken had something to go along with their software.

Did Lemon totally change their approach? Do they still scan receipts with their phone or do they only do credit card and loyalty card management? I am looking for an app that will scan my receipts effectively, not just take a shadowy picture. Any suggestions?

Who has access to the receipts? Some receipts have the last few digits of our account information is on them. When ever I call in to check my accounts they ask for the last four digits of my credit card. Is heir a way to just store on my iPad?
