http://edition.cnn.com/2011/12/09/tech/gaming-gadgets/jawbone-explains-up-failures/ The UP thing has some quirks it looks like --I couldn't find it on Best Buy so they must have pulled it.

Laurie— Yes, though we had no problem with our UP (and the ones I gave as gifts this year seem to be doing okay too!), Jawbone has received numerous complaints about poor battery life and performance. They've decided to do a voluntary recall of all the bracelets. Such a bummer cause it's a great gift. Keep your eye out for when they re-release them (I'm sure it will be soon).

Any thoughts to the Fitbit (fitbit.com) as a comparable replacement to the UP?
