Ever started to read an online article…just a sec. my son’s calling me… that you were really interested in, but you…sorry, doorbell…didn’t have time to read then and there? Well, there’s a nifty little browser extension called Read it Later that allows you, with the click of a button, to store articles, websites, tweets, and basically anything you want to be able to check out later into a reading list. Kind of like a DVR.
Better than bookmarks which just stay on one computer, because you can log into your Read It Later account from anywhere and there’s even apps for tablets and smartphones and other devices. And, because this is such a useful idea many sites, like Zite and Pulse, are building Read It Later buttons right into its programs.
So check out this Twirl and…shoot, one sec. my son’s calling again…find out how you can read what you want later, when you have more time. Although who knows when that’ll be.

Awesome find Carley, I'm always on the go and often forget to go back to read what I book marked.
Thanks!

I discovered Read It Later about two months ago, and absolutely love it! I constantly come across articles I want to read at work, but don't have time at that moment. Now it's not a problem!

I have been using Read It Later for quite some time now and it has saved me TONS of time! There is also an extension in the Google Reader so that when I come across an article I want to read, I click 'Read It Later' which is especially helpful when reading on my iPhone or Tablet that aren't connected to a printer and I come across an article with a coupon! Love it!

Thanks for the fantastic video review!
I'll be happy to answer any questions about Read It Later, or help anyone get up and running.
CKnobloch says:
Justin— So glad you're here! We're thrilled to have featured RIL this week... I personally find it INVALUABLE and a great way to read everything! (Clipping like crazy for an upcoming cross-country plane ride at the end of the week!).
Twirlers, ask away!
Fiona T says:
This does sound great! However, I have been using webclipper for Evernote for this same purpose. Nice to know what other options are around. Thanks.
CKnobloch says:
I use Evernote clipper as well, especially with the "Clearly" app that they launched to clean up the view. If you're not already an Evernoter, however, Read It Later is fabulous and does this one thing really, really well.
Hoon Park says:
I'm curious to know if you looked into Instapaper or Readability for similar functionality. If so, how did you choose to feature Read It Later over these two?
CKnobloch says:
Hoon— We look at a lot of factors when choosing what to feature. Design, ability to use, cross-platform capabilities, aesthetic... all those apps have similar functionality and work well. So it's hard to choose! But ReadItLater meets all our criteria for being a Twirl.
Nancy Eldredge says:
I love this program...thanks for sharing!
Stacey says:
One of my favorite twirls so far! Thanks for sharing!
CKnobloch says:
Stacey— Thanks... we love it too! Just loaded up a bunch of articles for a cross-country trip and read articles all the way to NYC!

Just wanted to let you know that I specifically came back to your website to see this one again. I have been doing a lot of research for a new business venture and I have dozens of online articles I need to read. I have an issue with leaving my computer running and coming back later to find the Windows has decided to run an update while I was asleep and closed my browser losing all my pages I had intended on reading. Going back through the history and time consuming. I remember reading about this one in your newsletter so I came back and did a search for "read web later" and here it is! Thanks so much! I love your site, your newsletter, and your incredible videos! Keep up the great work!
CKnobloch says:
Trish-- Thank you do much! I use Read It Later every day (it's called Pocket now!) and can't live without it. Glad you're finding it useful!
Trish says:
I noticed that when I went to download it. I also noticed your "ad" for it. Nice job!
CKnobloch says:
Trish— Thanks... they loved our review so much they hired me to do their video!
